“Six”, the first studio album by Sonicphonics after a break of several years, will be released on July 28 by Tone Industria.

Sonicphonics’ work can be described as avant-dance improvisation, although the band members did not stop in their exploration, weaving various, often seemingly contradictory elements into their work: power rock, fusion, ambient and Eastern music. Under the influence of these musical transformations and the nature of stage performances, the band’s line-up also changed.

The core of the band, founded in 1988 in London, consists of: Geoff Serle (guitar, saxophone), Jon Dobie (programming, loops, percussion instruments) and Adrian Northover (alto and soprano saxophone). The musicians did not limit themselves to their work in their original band, but also collaborated with, among others, former King Crimson violinist David Cross, Peter Brotzmann, Jerzy Mazzoll, Shoji Hano, Ken Hyder, Thomas Borgmann, Billy Bang, Vladimir Miller, Alexander Alexandrov, and the following bands: Pieces Of Brain, B-Shops For The Poor, Intereference 3.0, The Dynamix, Total Touch, Remove Viewers, Dha, London Improvisors Orchestra.

The double bass parts on "Six" were recorded with the guest participation of John Edwards.

The latest item in the Sonicphonics discography so far is the 2003 album "Zoot".

Twórczość Sonicphonics określić można, jako avant-taneczną improwizację, choć członkowie zespołu nie poprzestawali w poszukiwaniach, wplatając do swojej twórczości różne, często z pozoru sprzeczne elementy: power rocka, fusion, ambientu i muzyki wschodniej. Pod wpływem tych przeobrażeń muzycznych oraz charakteru występów scenicznych zmianom ulegał również skład zespołu.

Rdzeń założonego w 1988 roku w Londynie zespołu stanowią: Geoff Serle (gitara, saksofon), Jon Dobie (programowanie, loopy, instrumenty perkusyjne) i Adrian Northover (saksofon altowy i sopranowy). Muzycy nie ograniczali się do działalności w macierzystym zespole, współpracując również z m.in.: byłym skrzypkiem King Crimson Davidem Crossem, Peterem Brotzmannem, Jerzym Mazzollem, Shoji Hano, Kenem Hyderem, Thomasem Borgmannem, Billym Bang, Vladimirem Millerem, Alexandrem Alexandrovem oraz zespołami: Pieces Of Brain, B-Shops For The Poor, Intereference 3.0, The Dynamix, Total Touch, Remove Viewers, Dha, London Improvisors Orchestra.

Partie kontrabasu na „Six” nagrane zostały przy gościnnym udziale Johna Edwardsa.

Ostatnią jak dotąd pozycją w dyskografii Sonicphonics jest płyta „Zoot” z 2003 roku.
