Editor's info:
Dropped by Sub Pop in their homeland the band was signed by Glitterhouse for Europe. "New West Motel" was recorded live in an aluminium-sided garage in the timber country south of Seattle. The resultant sound is rough-hewn, soulful, loose and energized. "New West Motel" contains fourteen Walkabouts originals and a frenzied cover of "Snake Mountain Blues" by Texas legend Townes Van Zandt.
"The sounds of this album may seem a long way from home, but 'New West Motel' surrenders its charms easily. It's a lovely place to visit." (Melody Maker)
