Early 80's funky, demented raw punk/jazz from New York Ciy's maestro of the New Wave. A superb live concert recording, mastered by James Chance. "In September 1981, ROIR released its very first title ROIR A-100 on cassette only: James Chance and the Contortions "Live in New York". At the time, Chance was the hottest thing going in NYC. He had appeared on Island's "No New York" album produced by Brian Eno. That album also premiered Teenage Jesus and the Jerks, DNA and Mars.
