To have a cowboy heart.

The Brno band Poletíme? on their new album Kroskántry discover within themselves a cowboy heart and they extend their unique banjo-punk style trying another one – country, or more precisely, as they put it – ‘kántry’. On the third studio album of Poletíme? they emphasize the humorous lyrics which are straightforward, poetic, yet slightly vulgar. After the second album called Skupina dobře vypadajících mužů/Band of good-looking men the band set out from Brno’s clubs to main stages of not only rock festivals and now with the new album they confirm their position of joyful band, full of brisk rhythm and melodic choruses.

The album KROSKÁNTRY in a lightweight style again tells stories about difficult or sad things in yet colorful and cheerful mood. Rudolf Brančovský admits the inspiration by country music: “I just discovered for myself again the long forgotten world of musical romanticism. I am sure that thanks to our rogue style of playing country music won’t be a dirty word for some people anymore. So we don’t say country on purpose, because we mean KÁNTRY!“ In addition to classical instrumental formation we can also hear the rezofonic guitar of Martin Mikl and saxophone of Pavel Križovenský and five-string banjo of the legendary banjo player and founder of the bluegrass band Poutníci, Sváťa Kotas.

The lyrics whose sole author is Rudolf Brančovský are again, with a few exceptions, all about women!
These exceptions are for example “Lev“, which tells a story about an animal which keeps the bandleader Rudolf alive, or the song “Pepův Happyend“ talks about a dream come true of every lonely beer drinker (although in the end, it’s again about women) and the song “Kovbojové“ about social and mental outsiders.
