In January 2018 Jerkagram played a show in Los Angeles and Martín Escalante was also on the bill, performing with a different band. Becoming very fond of Martín's unique sensibilities and talent, Jerkagram then asked him to collaborate and soon it was decided to get into a recording studio in West Hollywood, to create the album.
Parkour is the result of hard days at work in a cozy Hollywood recording studio, filled with joy, sweat, and many physically challenging moments of explosive high energy cathartic noise. The five tracks could be seen as intense chases or battles between the three musicians, where one persistent tugging is met with an even harder push, or a slap in the face. Glücklich Jazz, the final long track of the recording session, is like a tantric downhill fall that gives the band room to breath, stretch and even relax.
