Black Flag's original bassist presents an acid rock powerhouse touching on anguish and exhilaration. Tearing guitars, beautifully heavy vocals and pounding rhythms.
The Chuck Dukowski Sextet (CD6) is an acid rock powerhouse. Their tearing guitars and beautifully heavy vocals weave through their virtuoso bass and rhythm section. They've followed up their first album's hit “Freedom” with songs on their new release Reverse Polarity that touch on a similar anguish and exaltation; Lora Norton's vocal intensity and emotional depth is on full display ranging from surrealistic “Open Up The Door” to the aggressive tear down of America's lies on “Try To Feel Free”. Guitarist Milo Gonzalez, who is the eldest child of Chuck Dukowski and Lora Norton, has become a permanent member (and sometime songwriter) of the CD6 after his guest appearance on their first release Eat My Life. His howling guitars have given CD6 their true voice.
The CD6's heavily lauded performance at the Coachella music festival bolstered their commitment to change expectations of what a band is. “We dominated the artist area at Coachella! We tour with the whole family, and more if we can.” Says Chuck. “We just take over. People don't know what to make of us because we refute all preconceptions of what it means to be a counter-culture and what a counter-culture family can be like. We're intergenerational and united. We're powerful because we stand together.”
