Rattlemouth is an offshoot of the Orthotonics. Walking A Full Moon Dog featurtes saxist/vocalist Danny Finney and guitarist Rebby Sharp + a great and supple rhythm section. Mostly instrumental new music that isn't afraid to rock hard (while using unusual modes for the melodies and rapidly changing time signatures). Musically comparable to aspects of late Etron Fou, but mostly, they just sound like themselves. In a just world, all we would have to say is "sounds like a revved-up version of The Orthotonics with a hot bassist added" and we'd sell tons. If you loved the Orthos, you're sure to love this! For Fist Full Of Iffy, Rattlemouth stripped down to the core trio of Danny Finney- saxes & vocals, Tom Brickman-bass & Robbie Kinter-drums & spent two years developing the material here. Their tunes are instantly recognizable: unusual scales and modes in the melodies that are usually handled by sax. The rhythm section keeps all of this activity firmly grounded, with quick-witted bass work and a drummer who can find the groove no matter what else is going on musically. The lack of guitar & trio format takes this further away from the "rock" elements of their first, & puts this more in line with musical iconoclasts like Etron Fou, albeit in a less obviously "weird" manner.
