North Quartet
Peter Brötzmann - saxophonist, clarinetist. One of the most outstanding European saxophonists. He gained worldwide fame by creating his own idiom of American free jazz. He began his musical career in the late 50s, playing in Dixieland bands. However, already in the mid-60s, he declared himself as a musician of the emerging European free jazz scene, giving it a personal character. In 1967, he recorded his debut album with Peter Kowald and the drummer - the Swede Sven-Ake Johannsen. At that time, he also collaborated with many important musicians for the free scene, such as Don Cherry, Albert Mangelsdorff, Cecil Taylor and the Globe Unity Orchestra.
Since the mid-1980s, he has been collaborating with a circle of American avant-garde musicians: Nicky Skopelitis, Ken Vandermark. The 1990s brought a real renaissance of Brötzmann's popularity. He founded two bands: the international quartet Die Like A Dog (Tashinori Kondo, William Parker and Hamid Drake) and Tentet with the participation of Chicago musicians (Ken Vandermark, Joe McPhee, Hamid Drake, Jeb Bishop, William Parker).

Mikołaj Trzaska - composer, saxophonist, bass clarinetist.
A graduate of the Fine Arts High School in Gdynia-Orłowo, he began his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, at the Faculty of Painting. Fascinated by the jazz of the sixties, especially the music of John Coltrane and Ornette Coleman, he dropped out of school, devoting himself entirely to music. Co-founder of the groups Miłość and Loskot. He played with Lester Bowie, Jochn Tchicai, Tomasz Stańko, Noel Akchote and Joe Giardullo.

Swą muzyczną karierą rozpoczął pod koniec lat 50, od grania w zespołach dixielandowych. Jednak już w połowie lat 60, zdeklarował się jako muzyk tworzącej się europejskiej sceny freejazzowej, nadajac jej osobisty charakter. Absolwent Liceum Plastycznego w Gdyni-Orłowie, rozpoczął studia na ASP w Gdańsku, na wydziale malarstwa. Zafascynowany jazzem lat sześćdziesiatych, szczególnie muzyką Johna Coltrane'a i Ornette Colemana, porzuca uczelnię, całkowicie poświecając sie muzyce. Współzałożyciel grupy Miłość oraz Loskotu. Grał z Lesterem Bowie, Jochnem Tchicai, Tomaszem Stańko, Noelem Akchote oraz Joe Giardullo.
Autor kilkudziesięciu płyt. Współpracuje na stałe ze znakomitą sekcją, duetem instrumentalno-kompozytorskim, Marcinem i Bartłomiejem Olesiami. Ich debiutancki album „Mikro muzik” uważany jest za krok milowy w historii polskiego jazzu. Obecnie uważany jest za jednego z najc.......
