Released in October 2001, the idea for our first compilation was conceived when Oneil Edwards of Zingmagazine and I met at the 2nd Aesthetics night which took place, Dec. 2000 in NY at the Cooler (Daniel Givens, Pulseprogramming, 33.3 and L'titlera performed, see 'Posters' page). Oneil asked if I would be interested in curating a feature for an upcoming issue of Zing, and after various suggestions, the idea for Compiled was brought into light.

On this cd you will find tracks from aesthetics artists: L'titlera, Hood, Pulseprogramming, The Eternals, Daniel Givens, Windsor For The Derby, Icebreaker and 33.3, as well as 4 other artists whose work we enjoy: Fleck + Fumie, High Priest + CX, Team Forest, & E*vax.

Team Forest lives in Dortmund, Germany and opened for L'titlera in Frankfort, Germany on L'titlera's first European tour. Fleck + Fumie are from Berlin, Germany. Their track is a Nick Drake cover. E*vax is from NY. This track is exclusive to our comp. He has a great full length and split 7inch with B. Fleischmann out on Audio Dregs. High Priest is 1/3 of Anti Pop Consortium and CX is a dj who used to be in the band Further. This track is exclusive.
