Editor's info:
The singer, who lives in Dordrecht, the Netherlands, heard the dark-hued voice of Carlos Gardél in Montevideo when she was a teenager, since when she has pledged her heart to tango. Her album contains repertoire in which Alfredo Marcucci's bandoneon plays a leading role, and also tangos in which four guitarists, Las Guitarras Argentinas, provide the accompaniment. Well-known pieces include A Media Luz, Yira Yira and El Choclo.

The tango was born at the banks of the Rio de la Plata in Buenos Aires and Montevideo. "La Noche del Rio de la Plata" is a musical journey from the traditional Tango of Carlos Gardél to the modern Tango of Astor Piazzolla. You'll hear Tangos with the typical sounds of the bandoneon but also Tangos accompanied by just four guitars, the oldest way of accompanying, also preferred by Carlos Gardél.
