Prize winners of the "International Jewish Music Competition" in Amsterdam (May 2008), Ensemble Me la Amargates Tú, arose from the interest and research of its members on Sephardic music as well as on Spanish music from the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries. The lyrics of the Sephardic songs in the repertoire of Me la Amargates Tú are written in Ladino. The Sephardic Jewish community has preserved the Ladino language for centuries as well as their songs, keeping alive the memory of a culture that is now spread in many countries throughout the world.

Me la Amargates Tú combines the folkloric Ladino tradition with musical elements from the period in which these Sephardic Jewish communities lived in the Iberian Peninsula, prior to their expulsion by the Inquisition.
Sephardic music from that period only includes the melody and the text. Therefore, Me la Amargates Tú combines instruments from this period with hours of rehearsal and musical arrangements, all to create the most approximate and appropriate results.

The members of Me la Amargates Tú studied with teachers considered world eminences in the field of Early Music, such as Jaap ter Linden, Peter van Heyghen, Christina Pluhar, Donna Agrell, and Rainer Zipperling.

Me la Amargates Tú performs numerous concerts around the world, and its members work from The Hague, Holland, the city where their interests and research joined to bring back the sounds from Sefarad.

Me la Amargates Tú to laureaci "International Jewish Music Competition 2008" w Amsterdamie, najważniejszego konkursu dedykowanego muzyce żydowskiej na świecie.

Zespół został powołany do życia przez argentyńskiego śpiewaka Estebana Manzano, absolwenta królewskiego konserwatorium w Hadze, w klasie Muzyka Dawna. Esteban Manzano jest dzisiaj jednym z bardziej cenionych tenorów, wykonujących muzykę dawną i barokową, współpracuje ze sławami muzyki barokowej jak Gabriel Garrido, Christina Pluhar z zespołem L'Arpeggiata, Rinaldo Alessandrini, Andrés Gerszenszon, Guillermo Opitz, Marcelo Birman.

Me La Amargates Tú powstał z fascynacji spuścizną kulturalną pozostawioną przez społeczność żydowską zamieszkującą Półwysep Iberyjski do czasów edyktu Alhambryjskiego, czyli 1492 roku. Żydzi zamieszkujący Półwysep Iberyjski posługiwali się językiem hebrajskim, arabskim, hiszpańskim, a także własnym - ladino, rozpowszechnionym w XIII wieku i nazywanym również spaniolskim. Z czasem zainteresowania członków zespołu poszerzyły się, i zaczęli oni wprowadzać do swojego repertuaru kompozycje z wieków kolejnych, XV, XVI i XVII.

Me La Amargates Tú łączy w sobie zjawiskowość Yasmin Levy, najwyższy kunszt wykonawczy wyniesiony ze współpracy wieloma cenionymi zespołami/orkiestrami i radość muzykowania znany chociażby z koncertów zespołu L'Arpeggiata.

zespół wskrzesza bogatą kulturę hiszpańskich Żydów z wielkim zaangażowaniem i znawstwem, nie jest to tylko odwołanie. Ostateczny kształt muzyczny poparty jest to głębokimi studiami tak nad samą muzyczną kulturą Sefaradu, jak i barokowej muzyki hiszpańskiej - z zastowaniem ówczesnych technik wykonawczych włącznie.

Me la Amargates Tú będzie gwiazdą tegorocznego Tzadik Poznań Festival, wystąpi na jedynym koncercie w Europie właśnie w Poznaniu, 27.07.2013 w sobotę.
