Maciej Ozog and Joanna Niekraszewicz founded spear in 1992. Within 12 years of its existence, Spear released four CDs, its compositions appeared on many compilations, and
the band played dozens of concerts in Poland and abroad. Studio recordings of Spear were made primarily by founding members, but the duo collaborated with many other
musician such as Wojcek Czern, Hubert Babiarz, Bartłomiej Kuźniak, Janek Koza, Marta Pilarska, Mariusz Stępien during live performances, as well as in case of some recordings.
From the beginning Spear was connected with the OBUH Records label, which published the first material of the group entitled „Spear ” in 1994 and the next two albums: „In Search
of Sparks”(1996) and „Dark Waters of Light” (1997). In 1998, the band issued its own label Ignis, which published another two CDs: „of Silence” (1999) and „Sapphire Flower ” (2001).

Spear’s music was a combination of minimalist, ambient soundscapes based on drones, loops, cut ups and found–sounds, post–industrial harshness and roughness, and unpredictable and unlimited experimentation with all possible sound sources. The result was a multi–dimensional, heterogeneous, hybrid sound collages oscillating between meditation, trance and uncontrollable outbursts of chance and noise.
Movement and stillness, silence and noise, order and chaos, the composition of opposites. The specificity of Spear activity was marked by and reflected the interests of the group’s
members who were inspired by magic, western esoteric tradition and European existentialism at that time. This found expression in sound experiments aimed to elicit specific psychosomatic states, as well as in symbolic, ambiguous texts, woven into the musical fabric.

Archiwalne i niepublikowane nagrania tej legendarnej grupy. Zewowy ambient, owiany mgłą tajemniczości, w którym przetworzone i spreparowane dźwięki zachwycają swoją zmysłowością i duchowością.
Muzyka tej legendarnej, nieistniejącej już grupy, jest połączeniem minimalistycznych, ambientowych pejzaży opartych na dronach, pętlach, cut–upach, post-industrialnej zgrzytliwości oraz eksperymentów z wszelkimi możliwymi źródłami dźwięku.

Efektem tego są wielowymiarowe i wieloaspektowe muzyczne kolaże oscylujące wokół medytacji, transu, przypadku, wybuchów chaosu, ciszy i bezruchu.

Płyta wydana nakładem Requiem Records zawiera utwory niepublikowane oraz pochodzące z niedostępnych od lat kompilacji.

SPEAR został założony w 1992 roku przez Macieja Ożoga oraz Joannę Niekraszewicz. W ciągu 12 lat istnienia zespół wydał 4 płyty CD, jego utwory znalazły się na wielu kompilacjach,
zagrał kilkadziesiąt koncertów w Polsce i za granicą. W nagraniach studyjnych projektu uczestniczyli przede wszystkim członkowie założyciele, jednak podczas koncertów, a także w
niektórych nagraniach z zespołem współpracowali liczni inni muzycy: Wojcek Czern, Hubert Babiarz, Bartłomiej Kuźniak, Janek Koza, Marta Pilarska, Mariusz Stępień.
