Przez wielu fanów Faith No More właśnie ten album uznawany jest za opus magnum kalifornijskiej formacji. Ukazał się w 1992 roku i pokrył się złotem w USA.

Angel Dust był drugą płytą FNM z Mike'em Pattonem w roli wokalisty. Osiągnął ogromny sukces, szczególnie poza Ameryką. Na listach szalała zwłaszcza przeróbka "Easy" The Commodores (w oryginale śpiewa ją Lionel Richie, wokalista grupy), zilustrowana niesamowitym wideoklipem, w którym muzycy przebrani są za kobiety. Fantastycznych numerów było tu więcej, by wymienić choćby "Midlife Crisis", "Everything's Ruined", "A Small Victory". W USA album dotarł do pierwszej dziesiątki "Billboardu". Znacznie lepiej poradził sobie na Wyspach, gdzie zajął miejsce drugie. Faith No More nagrywali piosenki w studiach Coast Recorders i Brilliant Studios w San Francisco.
