JAWA Ensemble (Abdou Oardi, Lucyan, Adam Rozenman) is a band that was born spontaneously in July 2015. Its beginning was a duo of instrumentalist and vocalist from Morocco named Abdou (Abdelhak) Ouardi and Lucyan (Lucjan Wesołowski, a musician from Łódź), who performed in Italy, Switzerland and Poland. The concert, which the duo presented at the end of July 2015 in Warsaw, was joined by Adam Rozenman, who plays many percussion instruments, including Arabic, Turkish, Iranian, etc. The band has performed in Morocco and Poland. Abdou plays the Arabic lute "oud" and the Arabic zither "quanun", while Lucyan plays the sitar and bansuri (Indian instruments).

The album presents Moroccan and Mediterranean music. The entire musical material is vocal pieces, often with long instrumental introductions and improvisations. Abdou sings in various languages, including the Moroccan dialect of Arabic (deriya, read: deriża), Ladino (the language of Jews expelled from Spain), Berber languages ​​and Turkish. The repertoire is enriched by instrumental elements referring to the Indian tradition, introduced by Lucyan, who has been inspired by this tradition for many years.

Born on 7 December 1970 in Casablanca, Abdelhak (Abdou) Ouardi began his music studies at the Ben M'sik Conservatory at the age of 10. He then continued his studies at the State Conservatory of Music in Rabat, where he won first prize in the Arabic lute "oud". In 1991 Abdou Ouardi began his career as an oud teacher in Casablanca. Jego zaczątkiem był duet instrumentalisty i wokalisty z Maroka o nazwisku Abdou (Abdelhak) Ouardi i Lucyana (Lucjana Wesołowskiego, muzyka z Łodzi), który wystąpił we Włoszech, Szwajcarii i Polsce. Do koncertu, który ów duet zaprezentował pod koniec lipca 2015 w Warszawie, dołączył Adam Rozenman, grający na wielu instrumentach perkusyjnych, w tym arabskich, tureckich, irańskich itd. Abdou śpiewa w różnych językach, m.in. w dialekcie marokańskim języka arabskiego (derija, czyt. deriża), w ladino (język Żydów wygnanych z Hiszpanii), w językach berberyjskich i po turecku. Wzbogacają repertuar elementy instrumentalne, nawiązujące do tradycji indyjskiej, wprowadzane przez Lucyana, który inspiruje się tą tradycją od wielu lat.

Urodzony 07.12.1970 roku w Casablance Abdelhak (Abdou) Ouardi rozpoczął studia muzyczne w Konserwatorium Ben M'sik w wieku 10 lat. Następnie kontynuował studia w Państwowym Konserwatorium Muzycznym w mieście Rabat, gdzie uzyskał pierwszą nagrodę w klasie arabskiej lutni "oud".
