Rickets & Scurvy is David Grubbs first full length collection of songs since 'The Spectrum Between' (Sunday Times' Record of the Year in 2000). It's the first of his solo records to be built around an electric group, featuring, John McEntire, Noel Akchote and Dan Brown, with Matmos' providing the electronics. Arguably his most accessible record to date, it nevertheless retains all the idiosyncracies typically associated his music. DG is also known of course for an amazing back catalogue of work from Squirrelbait and Bastro through to Gastr Del Sol, and a number of inspired collaborations and solo releases.
