"Fascinated by Rafał Bujnowski's paintings, in 2017, in the privacy of my studio, I composed pieces for solo piano for the series of paintings "Nocturne (Graboszyce)" from 2012-2013. For the next three years, I worked on the musical nuances and wondered how to ultimately convey the monochromatic nature of the Nocturnes with sounds. Finally, in March 2020, I entered a studio in a small town in Kashubia and made a recording under the supervision of sound director Igor Budaj. The unique Malmsjo Banana Grand Piano, the instrument's pitch lowered to 428 Hz, the warm sound of the microphones, and the fully analog recording on tape allowed me to approach the sound temperature of Bujnowski's paintings with the depth and expressiveness. Ultimately, the album included six compositions, which, together with the paintings, constitute a coherent and inseparable whole. In August 2020, Rafał Bujnowski created new works in a 32x32 cm format (the size of a vinyl record cover) specifically for the album cover. Przez trzy kolejne lata pracowałem nad muzycznymi niuansami i zastanawiałem się jak ostatecznie oddać monochromatyczność Nokturnów dźwiękami.
