A guitar trip into the musical, sometimes cold, 80’s. A remastered reissue of the debut album of a group which – even though it was compared to The Police and Boston – delighted audiences with their own style and perfect tracks. And the beach… we’re still dreaming about it.

Rendez-Vous from Łódź debuted at the Rockowisko Festival in December 1983. Ziemowit Kosmowski, previously known from a group called Brak that exploded with punk energy, found his place in a completely different style without any problems. They played songs based on hypnotising, new-wave rhythm section with spatial, intriguing guitar parts. Tracks such as “Przez auta szybę”, “Każdego dnia” and the most popular one “A na plaży… (Anna)” still sound very impressive today. Over a few years on the scene, the bands managed to record one album and two singles, while also causing a stir. But in 1987 the group was gone. We had to wait over three decades for the band – with a different line-up – to return and delight audiences again. Meanwhile, the long-awaited reissue of “Rendez-Vous” documents in detail their first incarnation and reminds us how it was back then.

The new issue of “Rendez-Vous”, developed in cooperation with Warner Music Poland, was remastered from original tapes from the Polish Recordings archive and enhanced with versions of the band’s songs from the 80’s, of the highest possible quality, which were released as singles and as part of compilations. The album comes with a booklet featuring lyrics and band history information, as well as unique photographs by Andrzej Tyszko.

Gitarowa podróż w piosenkowe, niekiedy chłodne lata 80. Zremasterowana edycja debiutanckiego albumu grupy, która – choć porównywana do The Police czy Boston – zachwycała własnym, wypracowanym stylem i doskonałymi utworami. A na plaży… nam wciąż się marzy.

Łódzki zespół Rendez-Vous zadebiutował na festiwalu Rockowisko w grudniu 1983. Ziemowit Kosmowski, znany już z eksplodującej punkową energią formacji Brak, odnalazł się w nowej stylistyce bez najmniejszego problemu. Proponowali piosenki oparte o hipnotyczną, nowofalową sekcje rytmiczną, z przestrzennymi, ciekawymi partiami gitar. Takie utwory, jak „Przez auta szybę”, „Każdego dnia” czy wreszcie najpopularniejsze „A na plaży… (Anna)”, do dzisiaj robią duże wrażenie. W ciągu kilku lat działalności muzycy zdążyli nagrać jeden album, dwa single i sporo namieszać na polskiej scenie. W 1987 roku po grupie nie było już jednak śladu. Trzeba było ponad trzech dekad, by projekt – w innym składzie – powrócił i znowu cieszył słuchaczy. A długo wyczekiwana reedycja albumu „Rendez-Vous” dokumentuje kompleksowo ich pierwsza inkarnację i przypomina, jak to kiedyś bywało.

Nowa edycja „Rendez-Vous”, przygotowana we współpracy z Warner Music Poland, została zremasterowana z oryginalnych taśm z archiwum Polskich Nagrań i uzupełniona o najlepsze możliwie jakościowo wersje nagrań zamieszczonych w latach 80. na singlach i kompilacjach. W książeczce, obok tekstów utworów i historii zespołu, znalazły się unikatowe zdjęcia Andrzeja Tyszki.
