Guerilla gardening with END FOREST.

During pandemic break some musicians from Polish diy hardcore punk scene came with an idea of the album dedicated to this unusual situation – and somehow combatting the isolation, the great depression of „the end of the world as we know it”. They invited musicians different musical underground backgrounds and created „a concept album about the destructive activity of humans” (in the band’s members’ words).
However, they didn’t intend to deprive us of hope – and one of the concepts that grew around the album is an ivitation to a simple act of plantig a tree. Kuba and his family collected and packed the seeds of a maple and linden tree and asked us to include them with each order shipped within EU (for legal reasons).
You will also receive a simple manual to plant the seed.
END FOREST invite all participants to share the results and post the pictures of results of your activity throught their (un)social media.

If the pandemic hadn’t happened, that would have been rather unlikely to make members of following bands work on this album:

END FOREST to otwarty projekt powstały w trakcie pandemii w wyniku wirtualnej współpracy muzyków z różnych części Polski i świata.

Efektem jest koncept album – efekt zadumy nad trwającym samozniszczeniem człowieka jako gatunku i planety (jakby echo hasła „there is no planet B”?). Zadumy nad przyszłością dzieci twórców płyty (niektóre z nich można na niej usłyszeć).

Pomysłodawcy zaprosili do udziału wykonawców z pozornie odległych muzycznie światów i znaleźli wspólny mianownik dla postaci tworzących na co dzień ambient, industrial, noise, crust, sludge, hardcore, ale też jazz, etno i folk! Liczna reprezentacja sceny d.i.y. spotkała się z osobami z zespołów rozpoznawalnych również poza niszami, z których się wywodzą, a konkretnie (w kolejności alfabetycznej):

Muzyka End Forest jest jak rzeka, która choć wypływająca z hardcore-punkowego źródełka mocno meandruje przez wiele ciekawych krain takich jak folk, doom, ambient, sludge, jazz, noise czy metal.

Tak piszą autorzy projektu:

„Od skrystalizowania się pomysłu, do ukończenia płyty minęły ponad dwa lata, czyli praktycznie tyle ile trwają problemy z Covid-19 na świecie.
Podstawą realizacji projektu było stworzenie koncept albumu traktującego o destrukcyjnym działaniu naszego gatunku, który w mniej lub bardziej świadomy sposób niszczy siebie oraz planetę, na której żyje zamieniając naturalne środowisko w potworny, post-apokaliptyczny krajobraz.
W tekstach rysuje się jeden z możliwych obrazów: rychły koniec świata takiego jaki pamiętamy, z czterema porami roku, lasami pełnych starodrzew.......
