David Walter has been associated with his alma mater, the National Conservatory of Music in Paris, for over 30 years, where he teaches chamber music and oboe. As a laureate of prestigious competitions (including in Prague and Belgrade), he became a recognizable soloist all over the world. In addition to teaching and his artistic career, Walter is also involved in composition and conducting, a sample of which are numerous original studies recorded together with the pianist Magdalena Duś.

The core of the album's repertoire is a transcription for piano, oboe and English horn of Cesar Franck's "Violin Sonata in A major". The album was also supplemented with a number of smaller pieces by, among others, Chopin, Fauré, Schubert and Marina Dranishnikova, presented in their original versions or in Walter's own arrangements.

David Walter od ponad 30 lat związany jest ze swoją macierzystą uczelnią -Narodowym Wyższym Konserwatorium Muzycznym w Paryżu, gdzie prowadzi klasy kameralistyki i oboju. Jako laureat prestiżowych konkursów (m. in w Pradze i Belgradzie) stał się rozpoznawalnym solistą na całym świecie. Poza pedagogiką i karierą artystyczną Walter równolegle zajmuje się także kompozycją i dyrygenturą, czego próbkę stanowią liczne autorskie opracowania utrwalone wraz z pianistką Magdaleną Duś.

Repertuarowym trzonem albumu jest transkrypcja na fortepian, obój oraz rożek angielski „Sonaty skrzypcowej A-dur” Cesara Francka. Płyta została uzupełniona także o szereg drobniejszych utworów m. in: Chopina, Fauré, Schuberta czy Mariny Dranishnikovej zaprezentowanych w wersjach oryginalnych, lub w autorskich aranżacjach Waltera.
