Agata Karczewska is set to release her new EP, Not My First Rodeo, on December 4th through Antena Krzyku. This follows her debut album I’m Not Good at Having Fun (2019) and a recent collaboration with John Porter, which earned a Fryderyk award for On The Wrong Planet (2023).


In this upcoming project, Agata focuses on honest, emotional storytelling, blending a variety of influences from indie songwriters to Americana artists, creating a refreshing mix of styles.

The lively track Rodeo offers a personal reflection and gives insight into Agata's state of mind. With the opening line, "This is not my first rodeo," she hints at her growth and the experiences that have shaped her. The lyrics feel like a candid confession shared with someone new at a gathering. Although it sounds lighthearted, the song touches on deeper themes such as life and death, capturing that familiar moment of oversharing at a party.

In contrast, Dark Horse brings a warm Americana vibe and could easily find a home on albums by Tyler Childers or Chris Stapleton. The lyrics resonate with anyone who feels overlooked, referencing literature while guiding listeners through a thoughtful journey in
alternative country.

Meanwhile, Go Ahead seems like a cheerful love song, reminiscent of Dylan’s "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright," but it explores the complexities of a relationship where two people struggle to connect. Here, irony meets melancholy, and laughter often comes with a touch of sadness.

The EP closes with the haunting, dark country-western track Harvest. While earlier songs subtly convey emotions, this final piece delivers a powerful impact, using grunge-like expressions. It blends an apocalyptic feel reminiscent of Johnny Cash with the bluesy sounds of PJ Harvey.
