Enumeration of these musicians speaks for itself. Also the short excursus in the history is worth mentioning. The first year of the Meeting of Drummers took place in 2002 from the initiative of Pavel Fajt and Romek Hanzlík (AMP agency). The simple idea was at the beginning: To invite on one side the leading Czech inventive drummers and on the other side the renowned foreign musicians from various genres, cultures and various perception of music for the one-week creative workshop and thus initiate the creation of the unique work of art – common composition, the result of which is the live concert of rhythmical instruments. The Meeting of Drummers wanted to include all the musical styles, bridge the differences between the cultures and approaches to production, create the witty creative atmosphere and transfer it subsequently to the stage.
Pavel Fajt, artistic mastermind of the Meeting of Drummers specifies: “My aim is to create the simple concept and reach during several hours, which are determined before the concert for rehearsal, the relaxed, cheerful and understanding team. Inspiration will be among others also the premises, where the concert takes place, their acoustic and atmosphere, as well as the whole playing will be influenced by the communication with the audience.“ In total on the stages, under the estimate of Pavel Fajt, one to two tones of instruments – percussion sets, cymbals, many ethnic drums and electronics will play on the stages.
