Skalpel meets The Very Polish Cut Outs - it's strange that such an obvious collaboration is only now taking place! However, the occasion is not just an ordinary one: the 20th anniversary of the premiere of the debut, now cult album of the duo Skalpel.

The debut of Marcin Cichy and Igor Pudło in Ninja Tune undoubtedly changed the face of Polish music, redefined the perception of the domestic canon and paved new paths for younger creators. Without a doubt, TVPCO also owes a lot to Skalpel. The fruit of this mental and friendly bond are remixes signed by Zuchy and Pejzaż - two representatives of TVPCO.

"Together" in its landscape interpretation surprises with its breadth - instead of the double bass repetition and intimate harmonies of the trumpet and vibraphone, we are captivated by the expressive beat and spilled, warm keyboard colors. We leave the smoky basement to catch a breath of the seaside breeze and be carried away by the landscape synth-wave. Until one would like to shout: "there is a beach under the sidewalks!"

Cubs cavort on this beach in a carnival rhythm and start an acid party on the expressive melodic motif from "High". The opener from the scalpel debut acquires a rhythmic muscularity, while still retaining an aura of mystery and fleeting charm. The original remixes of "Break In" and "Together" lead us to us to the British path. Both could be featured on Skalpel's last studio album, awarded with the Fryderyk, "OrIgins".

Cichy and Pudło come from hip-hop jazz roots (their own and the Ninja Tune label), updating their vision with the rhythmic patterns of UK-garage and dubstep. In "Break In", instead of the "garage" high and skunk-paranoia, we hear a catchy bass riff, a thrilling rhythmic vibration and a unique scalpel atmosphere. Skalpel spotyka The Very Polish Cut Outs - aż dziwne, że do tak oczywistej współpracy dochodzi dopiero teraz! Okazja jest jednak nie byle jaka: 20-ta rocznica premiery debiutanckiego, kultowego już, albumu duetu Skalpel.

Debiut Marcina Cichego i Igora Pudło w Ninja Tune bez wątpienia zmienił oblicze polskiej muzyki, przedefiniował percepcję rodzimego kanonu i wytyczył nowe ścieżki młodszym twórcom. Bez wątpienia także TVPCO Skalpelowi zawdzięczają bardzo wiele. Owocem tej mentalnej i przyjacielskiej więzi są remiksy podpisane przez Zuchy i Pejzaż - dwójkę przedstawicieli TVPCO.

„Together" w pejzażowej interpretacji zaskakuje rozmachem - zamiast kontrabasowej repetycji oraz kameralnych współbrzmień trąbki i wibrafonu, porywa nas wyrazisty beat i rozlane, ciepłe klawiszowe barwy. Wychodzimy z zadymionej piwnicy, by złapać oddech nadmorskiej bryzy i dać się porwać pejzażowej synth-wave. Aż chciałoby się krzyknąć: "pod chodnikami znajduje się plaża!".

Zuchy brykają na tej plaży w karnawałowym rytmie i na wyrazistym melodycznym motywie z „High" rozkręcają acidowe party. Opener ze skalpelowego debiutu nabiera tu rytmicznej muskulatury, nadal zachowując jednak aurę tajemniczości i ulotny wdzięk. Autorskie remiksy „Break In"  i „Together" naprowadzają nas na brytyjską ścieżkę. Oba mogłyby znaleźć się na nagrodzonym Fryderykiem, ostatnim albumie studyjnym Skalpela "OrIgins".

Cichy i Pudło wychodzą z hip-hopowych jazzowych korzeni  (własnych i wytwórni Ninja Tune), aktualizując swoją autorką wizję o rytmicznej wzorce Uk-garage i dubstepu. W „Break In" zamiast „garidżowego" haju i skunk-paranoi, słyszymy nośny basowy riff, porywającą rytmiczną wibrację i niepowtarzalny skalpelowi klimat.
