Double CD presenting Yair Dalal & friends in LIVE concert, performing the folk music of the Middle East, songs that date back dozens of generations. Music that rises above conflicts and brings unity, joy and hope to the hearts.
The album was recorded live at a concert in Jerusalem in November 2004 with Jewish and Arab musicians, and is dedicated to the folk music of the Middle East. The songs which all the people of the region grew up with. Arabs, Jews, Christians and Moslems - people of all nationalities and tribes who share the same musical culture.

This double CD album includes 12 tracks (six at each CD), mostly folk songs from the region, in various languages - Hebrew, Arabic, Aramaic, Iraqi & Moroccan dialects, etc.
The album presents a rare combination of 'Piyutim' (Jewish Liturgical songs) and Arabic folk songs,a blend which exists mostly in Iraqi tradition.
Among the gifted musicians participating is the female singer Liora Itzhak, the oud player Sameer Makhoul, the cantor David Menahem and the singer Haim Ankri.
The album includes a touching performance of the song "Yad Anuga" by Zalman Shne'or in a folk-Mizrachi melody, and extraordinary singing by Liora Itzhak combining classic Indian musical tradition.
The listeners will also recognize the song "Zaman El Salam", which Dalal wrote to honor the Oslo peace agreements in 1994, in a cross-borders performance.

In these hard times in the Middle East, as tension is raising worldwide and the continues conflicts between Jews, Arabs and Moslems, Yair Dalal uses the music as a symbol to the yearning for better and more complete life, in Peace.

Yail Dalal urodził się w 1955 roku; kompozytor, skrzypek, lutnista oraz śpiewak; jest prawdopodobnie najbardziej płodnym muzykiem izraelskiej muzyki etnicznej i gra ważną rolę w kształtowaniu światowej sceny muzycznej. W przeciągu ostatniej dekady wydał 11 albumów, przemierzając dzikie i różnorodne terytorium kulturalne, oraz autentycznie reprezentujący izraelską różnorodność kulturową, łączy ją w muzyce jako całość.

Wiele z prac Yair Dalal'a odzwierciedla jego rozległe umiejętności muzyczne zarówno w klasycznej jak i arabskiej muzyce a także odzwierciedla dużą sympatię, jaką ma dla pustyni i jej mieszkańców. Rodzina Dalal'a przybyła do Izraela z Bagdadu i jego irackie korzenie są osadzone w jego muzyce. Czy pracując samemu czy też z jego zespołem Alol, Dalal'a tworzy nową Bliskowschodnią muzykę poprzez rozmowę z tradycyjną iracką i żydowsko - arabską muzyką z wpływami pochodzącymi z różnorodnych kultur od Półwyspu Bałkańskiego po Indie. Jego poruszające kompozycje stanowią niepowtarzalny i kolorowy dźwięk.

Oprócz tworzenia muzyki, Dalal poświęca swój czas na zachowanie dziedzictwa muzycznego, aby uniknęły wyginięcia - spuścizna muzyczna Babilonu oraz muzyka Beduinów.
