Berlin electronics: Moritz von Oswald (known among others from Rhythm & Sound), Max Loderbauer (NSI/Sun Electric) and Sasu Ripati (Vladislav Delay/Luomo) invited double bassist Marc Muellbauer and Paul St. Hilaire (formerly known as Tikiman) as guitarist.
"Horizontal Structures" seems to be more open and expressive than their previous album "Vertical Ascent", full of contrasts, play of light and shadow... St. Hilaire and Muellbauer bring a bit more drama and energy to the intimate, tonal and rhythmic interactions of the trio. The coherence within this quintet is worth noting, the boundaries between acoustic and electronic music blur: from the almost romantic beginning of "Structure 1" through a krautrock jazz-crime passage as if from the 70s ("Structure 2") to the technoid "Structure 4", where Muellbauer's bass can let off steam.

Berlińscy elektronicy: Moritz von Oswald (znany min. z Rhythm & Sound), Max Loderbauer (NSI/Sun Electric) oraz Sasu Ripati (Vladislav Delay/Luomo) zaprosili do współpracy jeszcze kontrabasistę Marca Muellbauera i Paula St. Hilaire'a (znanego niegdyś jako Tikiman) jako gitarzystę.
"Horizontal Structures" wydaje się być bardziej otwarty i ekspresyjny niż ich poprzednia płyta "Vertical Ascent", pełno w nim kontrastów, gry świateł i cieni... St. Hilaire i Muellbauer wnoszą trochę więcej dramaturgii i energii w intymne, tonalne i rytmiczne interakcje tria. Spójność wewnątrz tego kwintetu warta jest zauważenia, granice między muzyką akustyczną i elektroniczną się zacierają: od niemal romantycznego początku "Structure 1" przez krautrockowy jazzowo-kryminalny pasaż jakby z lat 70-tych ("Structure 2") aż do technoidalnego "Structure 4", w którym bas Muellbauera może się wyżyć.
