n this follow-up to last year's crtically-acclaimed debut (cst016). kicker in tow, proves to be one of the most powerful, hypnotic, and relentless records currently mining the subterrain of avant rock. gen heistek's amplified viola is a propulsive blend of drones & doublestops, whilst eric craven's drumming spurts & hisses like an ornate, early-industrial steam engine. both players bring some brilliant free & improvisational explorations to the table, always with a raw, restless punk rock heart. these are work songs, fight songs, songs brimming with life & shot through with melodic influences drawn from folk traditions.

Pamiętacie albumy nagrane wspólnie przez The Ex i wiolonczelistę Toma Corę? Zdaje się, iż to były – o dziwo – najpopularniejsze w Polsce płyty holenderskich wymiataczy avant punka. Piszę o tym, bo melodyjno – riffowa wiolonczela w stylu hardcore i z punkowym wykopem również tu jest w roli głównej. Hangedup to kanadyjski duet grający w składzie: wiolonczela i perkusja. Wbrew pozorom osiągają całkiem potężne, brzmienie, które bazuje na tyleż prostych, co skutecznych garażowych patentach. Dużo czystych, soczystych dźwięków chwytanych przez proste mikrofony wibruje w zamkniętej przestrzeni urastając do tornado. Katastroficzną dramaturgię tej zawieruchy wzbogaca oszczędna emisja metalicznych sampli i gęste, bogate brzmienia zestawu perkusyjnego.
